Small business owners need your support. These are the makers and doers who live in our neighborhood. Our kids go to school together. And there’s a good chance that they’ve had an exceptionally hard year.
Black-owned businesses can especially use your support. At one point during the COVID-19 pandemic, Black-owned businesses were twice as likely to have gone out of business as their white counterparts. While they are slowly building back up, there’s a long road ahead.
So this Black Friday, consider finding and supporting some local black businesses near you. It doesn’t take much, just a simple Google search. To get you started, here are a few places you could try:
